Cause and effect? for Friend Tate

Cause and effect.

 

An unexpected chance remark

over heard inadvertently

Was quite enough to strike the spark

 which lit the fuse immediately.

 

Which somehow led me to explore

 the mysteries of E.S.P.

Something I had not done before

Which was completely new to me.

 

It could be mere coincidence

Or even synchronicity.

The former seems to make more sense.

There is no way that I can see.

 

Fate could arrange that I should be.

here at that time to overhear

A comment not addressed to me.

Though I recall it crystal clear.

 

It has to be coincidence

It can’t be synchronicity

I can’t see any evidence

 that tends towards convincing me.

 

That synchronicity could be

as common as coincidence

Subjected to close scrutiny.

The theory makes little sense.

 

What does it matter anyway

 A chance remark inspired me

Exactly how I cannot say.

To share my thoughts poetically.
