Once was sufficient.

Once was sufficient.

Cyhydedd Fer Sonnet

Who ever heard of such a thing?

A true Welshman who cannot sing.

It may seem strange but it is true.

There was one Welshman that I knew.

He was in fact a friend of mine.

When asked to sing he would decline.

There was no way he should be blamed.

He was tone deaf or so he claimed.

I have to say his claim was true

Because I’ve heard him trying to

Educate his tone deaf ears

The noise he made confirmed my fears

My friend though welsh will never sing

 Without his listeners suffering.

When I joined the RAF i was billete with with twnty welshmen all from the Rhonda and most of them called Jones. Singing came naturally
I tape recorded a spontaneous rendition of CWM Rhonda in the ablutions but was not wise enough to clone it. I wore it out years ago but oddly the only one who stands out in my memory was the one who could not sing

This is great because I have a few Welsh friends and they all sing. I really like this a lot.
