Most probably

Most probably

A Poem by Poeticpiers

rhyming quatrains in tetrameter

"

Most probably

Moonlight glisten on the ripples

As a homeless vagrant tipples

On the cheapest wine he could buy

The river keeps on flowing by...

The vagrant soon snores noisily

The river passes quietly

He drunkard soon lies quiet too.

The river does what rivers do.

I think perhaps the vagrant knew

His call had come long overdue.

And he chose to die beside.

The slowly flowing river’s side.

The river flowed on steadily

On its long journey to he sea.

The vagrants’ life drew to its close

What happens next nobody knows

The river will flow constantly

Until it mingles with the sea.

I like to think the vagrant

succeeds in mingling with the light.

His death was not a tragedy

Although his life had seemed to be..
I‘ll end my tale and say no more.

Leave you no wiser than before..
