What dreams may come.

What dreams may come.

What dreams may come.

LaLibertas.

I am fatigued yet fear to sleep

Ghosts of past sins are haunting me.

My conscience pricking constantly

for promises I did not keep.

I freely lied to satisfy

 some urgent need, some appetite.

I acted purely selfishly.

Impelled by my own selfish greed.

The time has come to foot the bill.

There’s no escape I have to pay.

Peaceful sleep’s forbidden me.

False promises I failed to keep.

Resurface when fall asleep

Their purpose is to punish me

A punishment I well deserve.

For selfishness I can’t deny.

There is no doubt about my guilt.

I can’t claim to be innocent

I offer this in self defence

I was too young to understand.

Eventually I’d have to pay for

telling lies to get my way.

Yes Greg we are the judges of our own actions We can't deny responsibility.
Still we all get another chance to improve life after life

Very well posed. The question is whether lies are the same as falsehoods. Our greatest judges are ourselves.
