I act independently

Point blank refuse to be a clone

You can accept or reject me

I am prepared to stand alone.

It’s my responsibility

 to show I manage on my own
My past experience has taught me

I can’t depend on anyone

A lesson I learnt painfully

When I awoke to find you’d gone..

That's a poem with a story and a life lesson. I have a few friends who I can depend on and a few friends who can depend on me. It's taken a lot more years than I thought it would but it's nice to know they're there.
