A lovely evening for a walk

Perhaps I’ll meet a friend and talk

About the weather probably

Because we’re Englishmen you see

We won’t discuss philosophy

Just chat inconsequentially.

About the way things ought to be

Because we’re Englishmen you see.

Unwritten laws we won’t defy

Meant to protect our privacy.

A question of propriety

Because we’re Englishmen you see.

There are some things one does not do.

I will not share deep thought with you.
