I am not where I want to be

I am not where I want to be

I am not where I want to be.

I sit beside my favourite tree

High on a bluff above the sea.

My scribbling pad upon my knee.

But I am lost in reverie

I’m so engrossed I do not see

The ships which pass in front of me.

I’m looking back nostalgically

At scenes etched in my memory.

I can remember vividly

  Another place another tree

But then my love you were with

Enjoying the serenity

But death has stolen you from me

and I must wait impatiently

Until death comes to set me free

To leave behind my misery.

The only thing that comforts me.

Is my total certainty

That love can last eternally.

Though parted temporarily

I will rejoin you happily.

As soon as I can hopefully.

I’ll fly to where you wait for me

My soul will find yours easily.

Third line second verse I believe you left out the word "me". But it does not take away from the verse at all. I found it very profound but hope that it is not of things to soon come. I don't know what I'd do if you decided to die. I would lose a writer I have found to call friend very much.
