Definitely down to earth. But I agree with Emma, you could break it into at least two to three stanzas, starting with breaking it up at "Just kindergarten kids all over again"...

However, it's your writing, so you call the shots.

Reminds me of the stuff from when I was your age. [I started writing when I was in 8th grade - 13 yrs old.] :-)
