I Was Meant For More

I was meant for more than just your hate

Your careless words and my past mistakes

I was meant for my love to be cherished

and reciprocated and not devastated 

I was meant to shine in your eyes and

not have having to disguise my pain and

heartbreak because my heart breaks every

single day for you. I pray for you. I beg just

to feel something from you. But your ego simply

will not ease up. Grow the f**k up. You don't

know me and you don't know best so give it

a rest and curb your temper for you are

in the presence of a true lady.

I was meant for more than your superficial

" I love you's" how dare you! You touch me

with anything less than good intent. Your

words are bent to seem pure but of that

I know I'm sure you want to break me. So you

hate me. Be a man and say it to me. Because I

was meant for a warm embrace. I was meant to be

someones angel and not their victim. I was meant

to feel good about who I am and not ashamed. 

I came this far and I'll be damned if I let a man

take my progress away.
