Silent Sadness

I know this isn't great but I needed to write.

I can’t explain what I don’t understand

It curls around my body as I sleep

Tightening its tendrils when I awaken

Choking the words “I need help” out

Instead I whimper “I am okay”

This sinister melancholy claims me

It has seeped into my soul
