Left Behind

I've been trying to make my way to you.

Struggling with every breath

It feels each step I get closer

A good two more pulls me back

 

Your light is becoming dimmer

As my energy starts to fade out

I could let my body fall to the ground

Or continue my journey forward

 

This paradox I'm living

To go astray or simply stay put

but I feel the need to reach you

and say what needs to be said

I cannot see the path

I am oblivious to each step 

This is all I'll ever be

Simply left behind
