The American Dream

The American Dream

A Poem by poison&kerosene

We have plagued a place once so proud a scene
All have abandoned the true american dream
We push to the top with such grace and tact
truly our motive is to stab you in the back

We step in your way and will throw you down
Spreading our corruption through every town
An honest and noble power we seem to be
That's what the media wants you to see

True, we have the freedom all do desire
What a shame we get it through bullets and fire
We will rush to your aid oh but not simply charity
We do it to benefit our standing wealth and prosperity

People in power want only for their best
They help themselves than screw the rest
I am proud of america, What we once were
but this place now stands on the trouble we stir
