Kids These Days

Kids These Days

A Poem by poison&kerosene

It's the common tune of teenage angst
They scream into the microphone and propel
the message that life is never fair and fulfilling
That the only friend you have is the bottle of jack
and the ten sack you have laying beneath your bed
so that a parent will never scan the room and find it
That all of your friends are pretentious and liars
authority figures just don't understand you and neither
does anyone yelling at you for a justifiable reason
That self respect is highly overrated and never mind
the length of your skirt or the hands that will have no problem
ripping it off for you because that's what teenagers do
The latest trend is thinking we have you against the wall
hunny, you suffer not one bit at all believe me
That's why i turn the radio off, and write my own damn song
