Waking Up

Waking Up

A Poem by poison&kerosene

I like to tell myself you were never real

A comatose dream that ended in nightmares

That every touch and kiss, every broken promise

was merely some twisted story I created on my own.

Unfortunately I can't unchain myself from this

Nothing I could tell myself to make this fake

You existed. We existed. And in one second

We burned to ashes from the fire in our hearts

I have the scars to prove it and a giant wall

I fear no one can break through and I'll be alone

Darling, It seems impossible that we could go from

Being each others everything to being nothing at all.
