Goodbye

Ah! To have loved and then cast out from Eden...

A tear of sadness, caressing the cheek 

Flowing down, on a journey in vain, 

Prolonging this moment is what it seeks, 

Even as unbearable is the pain. 


And in silence with me, the heavens cried, 

A coolness that seared this broken heart, 

A love, once shone has surely died, 

As we turned and walked away, apart. 


A part of me in that moment died, 

A part that forever in that moment has lived, 

And since, in every laughter have I cried, 

In a good-bye, that did never end.
