THE CLEVER FOXA Poem by Prateeksha Khotmy take on the classic fable of the fox and the crow![]() Once a fox, tired and hungry was walking down a street, when he came across a crow on a tree holding a piece of meat. His mouth watered at the site of the meat, He thought, " I must think of a plan to snatch the meat from the foolish crow as cunningly as I can." Aloud he said to the oblivious crow : "Dear me ! How lucky am I ! To come across such a great person As I was walking by ! Really Mr. Crow, how famous you are ! As famous as one can be Of your melodious singing everyone is a fan, and one them is me." The crow was surprized and his ego inflated as the fox went on and on , "But dear Mr. Crow, I want to hear you sing. So for me please sing a song." The crow now eager to prove himself opened his mouth to sing, Down fell the piece of meat near the fox who gave the crow a hearty wink ! "So dear Mr. Crow," he said in a mocking voice. "You can go on singing if you like, For I have got what I wanted, I will go and take a lovely bite !" © 2010 Prateeksha KhotAuthor's Note
