precious comfort

unable to control my emotions, i began to cry but your embrace was like a shield,
i instantly felt safe in your arms.
tears continued to flow from my eyes and onto your chest.
strangely enough, my tears began to stop, as if there had been a sudden drought.
i could feel your heart beating through your warm shirt. the warmth of your body gave me a sense of security,
as if warmth was suddenly all that mattered, i clung to you tighter...resting my head on your chest.
i began to thank God for your existance.
you were there for me when it seemed as if the whole world walked out on me.
as i started to cry again, i never wanted to let you go.
i noticed when i opened my eyes, still clinging to your body, that you could be with anybody tonight, laughing and having fun..
but instead, you were comforting me.
