You breathed song into my soul when there were no words.
Lifted me up in the clouds to soar with the birds.
Held me in your arms when I was falling apart.
Brought joy and happiness to fill my aching heart.
Protected me from enemies who were throwing stones.
Anointed me with healing, granting health to my bones.
Put a spring in my step so I could walk in your will.
Found my light hidden and placed it high up on a hill.

You gathered my tears in a shimmering sea.
Sounded golden trumpets to awaken me.
Collected me like a seashell washed in the sand.
Found me in the dirt and picked me up in your hand.
Rescued me as I hung from perilous ledges.
Polished and shined me, smoothing out the rough edges.
Showed me great love when I had not enough.
Made me your precious ...

Diamond in the Rough'
Pete,
Very good explanation of how it feels to be found by the Savior, and to want to be.
The whole piece is beautiful and expressive of Holy Salvation.
I really like this;
""Rescued me as I hung from perilous ledges.
Polished and shined me, smoothing out the rough edges."
The context within this piece made sense as you describe how this rescue really feels.
Blessings,
Kathy

This was awesome! Great job, the structure and visual makes this poem stand out! I am also glad to see something with hope in this website the last 10 poems I have read have made me want to curl up in a ball and cry, this has a very welcomed lightness to it.

I enjoyed this writing very much Pete. A sense of gratitude to the creator for everything he has given and for everything that he is not given. I loved the flow too...very beautiful. Thank you for sharing it.
