Human RaceA Poem by PeteNo human being, past the thoughtless age of boyhood, will wantonly murder any creature which holds its life by the same tenure that he does.![]() Thee and thou. Created somehow. An undeniable stronghold. Seemingly holding fool's gold. It used to be such fun. Doubt weighing nothing but carrying a ton. A legion of demons hiding behind the sun. Wars fought and battles won. No bullets but carrying a big gun. What's done is done. Headwinds. Separation's questioning sins. Huffing and puffing. Blind men bluffing. Of faith, nary a trace. Full of God's grace. Desperately needing to pick up the pace. I drank water and spit wine to help me win this relentless, human race.
