"It's the beauty within us that makes it possible for us to recognize the beauty around us. The question is not what you look at but what you see." - Thoreau

Perhaps the shards of glass represent your former life, and that must be forgotten for whatever reason. Your past life may have been an abstraction, an past that could not be labeled, but more like the photo, an abstraction that is both beautiful and sad, but things also that don't last. A lovely flow to this poem and perfect rhyme. Enjoyed it. (I love the photo, abstract but also ethereal.)
