Hail to The Thief

Hail to The Thief

A Poem by Pete
"

That government is best which governs the least, because its people discipline themselves. - Thoreau

"
The Sinking Ship of Traditional Retirement Policies - Paradigmlife.net Blog

burning the old dead red in effigy
embracing the new, true blue
people shout and cheer
with their cameras, flags, honking horns and remotes
for there's a new captain at the helm

too bad he's steering a sinking realm

Nothing changes until there is a clean slate and our own hearts change. No matter who is "in charge" in human form, patterns repeat unless we ourselves choose to break them. Nothing changes from red to blue or whichever. Can you imagine if right now today we all unlearned horrible habits and beliefs and created new kind ones where we needed to? Real change would happen. I love the choice of song with your poem and reading the poem itself. You always make the wheels in my head turn...But I did enjoy the noise yesterday. Have a happy, happy week!

I don't usually comment
on political writes
but the title of this
one pulled me in
perhaps a daring
bold one until we
see the final results
of cases filed

however I do like
the way you added
the song by Neil
Young "Ohio" it
seems it matches
the sentiment/ feel
of this write being
the bellwether state
that always gets it
right pcking the winner

I always enjoy reading
your writing as always
