I'll Be There

I'll Be There

A Poem by Pete
"

I love you not as something private and personal, which is my own, but as something universal and worthy of love which I have found. - Thoreau

The Drifter - All The Tropes

drifting here and missing there
passing through hell
up to my neck in highwater
when up is down and down is up
when love chooses you and passes by me
when a tattooed faith's ink fades
and eden vanishes

when confetti explodes
in a sneak attack
i'll find my way back

when heaven's roll is called
in a gilded city
hungry and cold
standing in the rain
echoing your name

one way or another
even if it's in my underwear
i swear

i'll be there
