"Tom Hyde, the tinker, standing on the gallows, was asked if he had anything to say. "Tell the tailors," said he, "to remember to make a knot in their thread before they take the first stitch." His companion's prayer is forgotten." - Thoreau

The poem and painting are powerful testimonies of the importance and value of prayers. Quotations by Thoreau are always an added bonus. We should be grateful for our blessings. Simple, genuine and heartfelt prayers rise directly to The Throne. Sometimes prayers go unanswered for many good reasons too.

Becoming good at praying takes a lifetime. As fallible dimwits, we have to regularly re-teach ourselves to focus on the important stuff. Some sit around lazily whining about how bad things are & I think: getting one's head straight about it all can be a full-time job. We must get over the disappointments & just take new steps toward where we want our outlook to be (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
