Shangri-la-haA Poem by PeteIt is better to have your head in the clouds, and know where you are... than to breathe the clearer atmosphere below them, and think that you are in paradise. - Thoreaui've got you by your wide, double-breasted lapels coercing you into perceiving what i feel lofty highs and hungry lows frozen tears and joyous minutes kicking off my shoes and passing them to you taking you on a journey into my world where flags either sulk at half staff or dance unfurled where the laughter can be deep and loud where the bus is a cloud and the fillings in your teeth are falling out but proud where truth doesn't have to hide behind a dead shroud a place where faith sneaks up on you lines in the sand are always dotted and crossed and time is never lost no matter the cost happiness is a rule here, not a law but rules are meant to be broken in this double-barreled shotgun spa this downtown shangri-la-ha © 2020 PeteAuthor's Note
