Snow Blind

Snow Blind

A Poem by Pete
"

To us snow and cold seem a mere delaying of the spring. How far we are from understanding the value of these things in the economy of Nature! - Thoreau

"
Blinded By Snow | Synapse

freebased and freefalling
frozen cocaine
outside my window pane
invading the view from my venetian blinds
addictive paranoia grips me
snowflakes parachute stealthily down
in a covert storm
their own blizzardous d-day

i've no snowblowing straw with which to snort
no rolled up hundred dollar bill
i've had my fill
i can't seem to cut them with the razor blade of my shovel
too much they weigh

i wish they'd pull their ripcords over someone else's walkway

as frustrating as this white stuff may be when related to roof snow loads and unpassable driveways, we rely on a snow pack up in the mountains to keep our wells humming all summer and you have to admit that it does make nifty snowpersons depending upon your snowperson perspective, what with ripcords and all!
