Cheek To Cheek

Cheek To Cheek

A Poem by Pete
"

Listen to music religiously, as if it were the last strain you might hear. - Thoreau

"
DANCE ALONE INSTRUMENTAL SNIPPET) by Primo B | Dance silhouette, Dancer silhouette, Silhouette

with immutable songs jiving in my head
breakdancing on my soul
i float above this cruel, uncaring city
my feet never touching the hard, callous ground

picking up life's winning lottery ticket
without ever bending down
as i travel to the oasis of the park
on the winsome wings of sound
along this narrow corridor of musique mystique
not for the melodiously meek
dancing with myself

cheek to cheek

hard to hate and sing or dance at the same time eh!? both are capable, as your poem states, to lift our spirits, minds and hearts to higher places ... so much of our mean streets to be cleansed of ... what would we be without it

ps. what an interesting mix in the music choice .. its kind of Bowie, kind of Prince .. kind of a tension but mostly makes me feel very happy and carefree .. nice job!

Sometimes we have to crank up the music and dance to our own beat.

I love the idea of dancing alone to the sound of the beat within you mind.

I really enjoyed the passion in breakdancing you've shown the reader in what you've written.

"I float above this cruel, uncaring city
my feet never touching the ground," - this part came to life for me. tyfs
