Judgement Day

Judgement Day

A Poem by Pete
"

Though the damned do not love God, God loves them, and this is their torture. The very fires of Hell are made of the love of God! - Peter Kreeft

Judgement Day": Illusions of Grandeur | The Theatre Times

in dire need of corrective lenses
marked by delusions of grandeur
palliated spirits overdosed on the panacea of a putrid placebo
listen to the blood curdling screams
see the skeletal fingers reaching up
watch the worms slither 'neath the daisies
reckon the bent arrows searching for their mark
lost souls on the fringe of eden's closed park
fathom the fulcrum of heaven and hell

anything for self preservation

too bad they have no reservation

Author's Note

Pete
"If the sun could stop shining, lovers of the dark would no longer be tortured by it. But the sun could sooner cease to shine than God cease to be God...The lovelessness of the damned blinds them to the light of glory in which they stand, the glory of God’s fire. God is in the fire that to them is Hell." - Peter Kreeft

It seems your message was posted before the Capitol riot, but this is applicable to all that & so much more that's been passed off as "governance" for the past 4 years. Your poem reminds me of how disgusted I am with those staffers & cabinet members who are resigning with an indignant flourish, 2 weeks prior to an ending which they did not seek, after allowing the madness to prevail (& many profiting from it) for 4 years. Your poem depicts the very muddy state of "right & wrong" in many people's minds, these days (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
