A Poem by Pete
"

Make the most of your regrets; never smother your sorrow, but tend and cherish it till it comes to have a separate and integral interest. To regret deeply is to live afresh. - Thoreau

i hear god's tears falling on the window sill
it feels so good under the covers
bad things happen when they get pulled down

there's a justification for tomorrow
a cause for sorrow

some things don't need a reason

they just are

Author's Note

Pete
“God himself culminates in the present moment, and will never be more divine in the lapse of all the ages. And we are enabled to apprehend at all what is sublime and noble only by the perpetual instilling and drenching of the reality which surrounds us. The universe constantly and obediently answers to our conceptions; whether we travel fast or slow, the track is laid for us.” - Thoreau

Your poem seems to be a teetering on the fence of why one should get the hell out of bed in the morning. This narrator seems to be coughing up an argument that's not quite convincing, but he'll probably manage to rumble on anyhow! First verse is so thought-provoking (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
