One of the most attractive things about the flowers is their beautiful reserve. - Thoreau

in the cushioned petals of existence
a glorious bud of faithful profusion grows
inviting me in
when a flower bursts into bloom

'tis eternity in an instant
the final evidence of exquisite innocence
the last bastion of clandestine truth
the culmination of precious grandeur
a momentary glimpse into the splendor of god
as he winks and gives me a benevolent nod

rendering me blameless

I am seeing the flower in your poem to signify all of nature. For me, being surrounded by uninterrupted miles of it, nature can truly transform one's entire existence, if we allow it to. Some of my neighbors who are not compelled to drive out to jobs still have a habit of driving somewhere every day. They use leaf blowers, even tho the wind comes up every afternoon to blow things to wherever they typically gather. On & on. So, surrendering to the blossom is needed (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Splendid posted image and your words do it justice Pete. Where would we be in a world without flowers? They can brighten up the worse kind of day. Nature is uplifting and healing. My garden in summer is abundant with them. You reminded me even though we are a way off yet. Hope you are keeping well.

Indeed, a flower is a miracle. A fragile piece of beauty, easily trampled but ever renewing. May we never be without them.
