We are made happy when reason can discover no occasion for it. -Thoreau

laughing on the outside

Author's Note

Pete
"Priests and physicians should never look one another in the face. They have no common ground, nor is there any to mediate between them. When the one comes, the other goes. They could not come together without laughter, or a significant silence, for the one's profession is a satire on the other's, and either's success would be the other's failure." - Thoreau

This is exactly where I'm trying to be with my Buddhism studies. Fighting off or rejecting or having a reaction to whatever we perceive as negative in life is the problem, not that the object of our annoyance exists. My mantra: I'm okay with what happens. Except your poem says it so much more gracefully while planting an exquisite view with your art (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Generally when a man comes to this point, it's a perfect time to sit back and have a quiet drink and let the burdens roll away. Nice poem.
