high and low

i searched for the will to let go

the means to forgive

nowhere to be found

the other day in the park

a large tree branch lay on the ground

torn by yesterday's wind 

i looked at the branch

i looked at the tree

i looked within me

one of its limbs now gone

the tree did not lament

it still stood tall

reaching for the sky

growing

its lifeblood continued flowing

it did not hide in shame

i asked myself if i should i not do the same

wearing the scars of the good fight

holding a sword of right

despite the past and undeniable truth showing

i  pondered for a time

then turned and went on my way

smiling

knowing

glowing

going

For your first verse alone, you deserve a billion stars. the whole poem deserves billions stars, but that first verse took my heartbeat way. the easy yet so knowing, wise, caring, aware language You write with is where the power of your pen lays, the reader doesn't have to sit and think, in a way or another they get it even if they don't understand the words. another outstanding piece dear Pete.

I think we get pushed in the direction we are suppose to go. If we ignore it we will get moved and shaken until we move in the direction which we are suppose to go
