Beyond Absolute

Beyond Absolute

A Poem by Pete
"

What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lives within us. - Thoreau

chanting to the moon
searching for the sun
held hostage by the wind
waiting for the rain
the candles and incense were lit
their prayers said
they buried the dead
with heavy dirt

running from yesterday
leaping into tomorrow
wondering aloud
heads hanging low
spirits proud
endless and boundless
squeaky clean
what could they possibly glean
not what it is but what it means
dancing naked through divinity

in a love supreme

We remember the past, breathe in the present and search for the future. I believe all three are important and there are lessons from the past we need in life, living in the moment allows us to be free , and our minds sauntering towards what maybe allow us to dream.

and this is absolutely byoned beautiful... again You write with such beautifuuuul language BUT exactly as You've said,
"what could they possibly glean
not what it is but what it means"
and your words mean volumes, speaks volumes to the spirit, the positive uplifting tune of your poem made me feel as if I am dancing just like your posted photo (wonderful one along your poem), dancing in the now where nothing before of after matters, where we are closer to the divine. Gorgeous Pete, truly gorgeous, this really feels as a song.

Ok cool 😎
As I read this, I couldn't help but feel such bliss...imagining how freeing it can be to just allow yourself to enjoy life which surrounds you every day. On good days, it can always help to be observant of even the smallest things (flowers, the sound of birds, nature). On bad days, it seems we somehow fail to notice much of anything important and just dig ourselves into a mental grave. It's important to take care of yourself & take time to enjoy the little things in life when it feels everything is crashing down around you. Such an insightful and powerful piece!
