Groundswell

"

The finest workers in stone are not copper or steel tools, but the gentle touches of air and water working at their leisure with a liberal allowance of time. - Thoreau

waves crash against immutable rock
a million pieces of broken glass
in but the blink of an eye
shards swept up in a foaming wash
reconvened
to crash again

standing alone amongst faithless men
clutching nothing but an eternal pen
no one knows since when
no one was there
way back then
when truth was written

amen
