Chasing The BluesA Poem by PeteThe bluebird carries the sky on his back. - Thoreauclosing windows opening doors in a whimsical whirlwindbluebirds of paradise came and drank the rain there were two with a loving shake and a peaceful stir presuming them to be him and her as they always will be and always were a reminder that this life is but a winged, crusty-eyed blur they departed as quickly as they came without as much as a sound i've no doubt 'twas for higher ground places and things more profound carrying olive branches to the hopeless and downtrodden a sign that we are not alone a sign that there is always a way home a reminder that rain must fall a reminder that it is good a reminder that breezes must blow with a free ticket to azure's impressive show all this i see all this i know as well i should in a whirlwind guided by my muse chasing the blues © 2021 PeteAuthor's Note
