"As for clothing, [...] perhaps we are led oftener by the love of novelty, and a regard for the opinions of men, in procuring it, than by a true utility. [...] No man ever stood the lower in my estimation for having a patch in his clothes; yet I am sure that there is greater anxiety, commonly, to have fashionable, or at least clean and unpatched clothes, than to have a sound conscience."

Not only gives the reader such wonderful visuals but makes me wonder on that humor mentioned...the bond shared in such an action, I find that in your poetry there is always a crossroads of sorts, the conclusion perhaps up to the reader...another great work of art :)

the title comes from her being french canadian from quebec. she would try to make it fun - telling .. read morethe title comes from her being french canadian from quebec. she would try to make it fun - telling stories, turning it into a game, being silly etc. it made a seemingly mundane task more tolerable for her and kept me entertained rather than just throwing the wash in a dryer (which we didn't have), shutting the door, turning it on and walking away. they are precious memories being formed that we don't realize at the time. my brother and i would say, "why don't we have a dryer like everyone else? - i'm glad that we didn't because now i possess those memories and it was quality bonding time.
it was "our" time together. you are spot on about there often times being a crossroads in my poetry. i think i sometimes like to toy with the reader to see where their mind takes them as they absorb a piece. there are treasuries everywhere in life, we just have to know where to look and a willingness to dig them up. thank you for having an open mind and a willingness to share my dear friend ... :)

I love reading, writing, music, nature, God and feeling emotion, not necessarily in that order. To me, these things go hand in hand. My favorite writer is Henry David Thoreau. I think he was a geni.. more..
