We now no longer camp as for a night, but have settled down on earth and forgotten heaven. - Thoreau

squinting ramshackled eyes

from atop a profound elevation

far-off in the distance

no longer recognizing sanity

not moses

just a gentile

dragging a tattered credit card of faith

walking an endless green mile

cream and sugar

milk and honey

without a cent of money

living in a tent with flaps that look funny

not even a member of the original band

seeing a promised land
