Queen of Blooms

Queen of Blooms

A Poem by Pete
"

The world laughs in flowers. - Thoreau

"
Jacaranda - Wikipedia

secretly from afar
in a timeless corolla of recherché
a petaled profusion of prominading patience
crowned in a pampered polaris of panoramas
spread open in a royal grove of trumpeting jacoranda panicles
minions of leaves and branches kneeling at a throned liege
a monarchy of bloom beckoning
i knew right then
in all your inflorescent splendor

i had to have you

You have truly taken wordplay on a trapeze ride here! Wow! Instead of seeing the intended message of the poetry, I found that I was instead seeing your passion play for vocabulary. Sometimes a flower blossom is just too rich & complex for words, so I understand having to take it to the stratosphere (((HUGS)))

Simply splendid with a masterclass in alliteration. I love flowers and my garden in summer is bursting with blooms of all colours. However, there is something so special about flowers growing wild. I will never forget Switzerland is springtime. Meadows sprawled before mountains littered with beautiful petalled delight. Thank you for the memory.

My, this an alliteration lover's feast. I enjoyed the read. I'm a big fan of Thoreau and Emerson. I read Walden to my mother near the end of her life sitting by her bedside. She was a wise woman with an eighth grade education. I asked what she thought of it afterwards. She said, "I liked his words. He seemed like a man who truly loved nature." Even Thoreau would have been pleased by such a review. "Simplify, simplify."
