TroughA Poem by PeteSometimes you have to let go to hold on.Ancient sitka spruce trees emerge from the beach during a super low tide at Neskowin on the Oregon coast. The so-called "ghost forest" is thought to have been buried during a massive earthquake 2,000 years ago, initially uncovered by storms in the late 1990s. Today, the trees are visible at low tide. i smelled its dank despair i felt its tired loneliness i knew its dejected ebb i grasped its faith to flow yet again © 2021 PeteAuthor's Note
