Forever

Forever

A Poem by Pete
"

"Remember that the smallest seed of faith is of more worth than the largest fruit of happiness." - Thoreau

"
not wanting to die young
the last leaves of a spent summer clung steadfast to the trees from which they were conceived
a cold november wind tried to ply them with the promise of something better in order to expedite the release of their grip and necessary fall
but they held firm to the womb that bore them
searching for a breach
some other way

seasons come and go and come yet again
death is inevitable
faith means always
always is forever

forever is a pretty long time
