Overwhelmed

Overwhelmed

A Poem by Pete

Couple Dancing Silhouette - Free vector graphic on Pixabay

eyes afraid in a hurried glance
willing to take a chance
our spirits danced
our souls twirled
in a different world
a different realm
'neath a ghosting elm
blind love at the helm
overwhelmed

the band played
our union ok'd
leading passion's colorful cavalcade
thank heaven we stayed
thank god for cool shade
thank the angels who knelt and prayed

thank elvis for blue suede

Good rhyming here. I notice Elvis is at the bottom of the thank you list. Oh, well, two lines below God ain't chopped liver.

You create such landscapes of tales and inviting visions dear Pete - this really reeled me in and took me away for a few seconds, tapping my feet :)
