"Dandy Lions"A Poem by PeteI am no more lonely than a single mullein or dandelion in a pasture, or a bean leaf, or sorrel, or a horse-fly, or a bumblebee. - Thoreauwith little relevance to me at the time dad would curse them from his favorite chairwhilst mom dug them out with gloved hands straining a tiny shovel spying them now in my own lawn debating with myself whether to relish the memories or value virgin turf dandelions will come and go but mom and dad are now gone with an odd, hallowed smile on my parched lips, i think i'll let the golden fodder continue to live right where they will well tucked into the jaundiced sod of memories in an unforgettable acre of eternity © 2022 PeteAuthor's Note
