I Saw A Robin TodayA Poem by PeteHow imperceptibly the first springing takes place! - Thoreauoblivious to calendars loyal to a promise frozen in time thawed in eternity etched in stone i saw a robin todaygiddy with laughter, joy and hope daringly scampering out from beneath some slumbering bushes as nearby geese picked at the bare ground left by melted footprints in the snow a march sun reached up, stretched and yawned after a long winters nap a seagulll circled overhead on wisps of air from the very nostrils of god as if tracing a spiral staircase the warm sun reflecting off the slice of ocean in the inlet was blinding like diamonds infinitely more precious i offered a prayer of thanks to divinity as choirs of angels sang a reassuring psalm of creation seasons may come and seasons may go but the time was then that very juncture there is no past and no tomorrow no time for sorrow only now forever transcribed in the annals of never ending time come what may on the vows of what southerly winds and pages of the good book have to say because truth is undeniable the lord is faithful and reliable all is right in my soul bare ground was always there beneath the snow this i know because i saw a robin today . © 2022 PeteAuthor's Note
