In An Entirely Different Vein

In An Entirely Different Vein

A Poem by Pete
"

Invariably our best nights were those when it rained. - Thoreau

"
May | 2018 | Traveling Troubled Times

i cry but no one hears tears
i sob but no one sees pain
i weep and pray but no one recognizes a wounded soul
i yearn but loneliness and emptiness are forgotten like days of old

i wish eyes and ears would be opened
but that only happens when you feel the rain
falling

in an entirely different vein

Gosh! do I see a suicide? or the selfishness of human nature? the unkindness and brutal? if it is mine I feel, if it is not, I don't care about it. no blood of empathy flows not in me nor in you, why we are brothers and sisters then? this is really strong and hard Pete, all comes from within You can't be healed if your soul isn't healed, heal your soul to a certain limit and all should be ok. to need an ear, a heart, a company... nothing shame within that we are still human living in this world seek it if You need it. we can easily specially in the tough experiences and pains disconnect from the light that is inside us, it's ok, soon it will shine again, and to feel it from others help us and gives us comfort and warmth.

I don't know. It seems so many people do not value the gift of life or the value of another.

It's a tough one Pete, and I'm not going to pretend like I can say anything that might be of any help. At the very least, know that even though I rarely review what you've written, I do try to take the time to read whenever you post. Doesn't do much for the rain, or the water, but it's all I can really offer from over here.

Appreciate Santana as well - I only know him from the somewhat legendary LSD solo - but like Thoreau I expect I'll probably do a deep dive one of these days.

Thanks again, Pete. All the best.
