Things Such As These

Things Such As These

Any truth is better than make-believe. It is not enough that we are truthful; we must cherish and carry out high purposes to be truthful about. - Thoreau

like a diametric twin
thicker than thick
thinner than thin
clouds roll out
clouds roll in

neither garnering last rites as if ready to expire and die
nor demanding to know why
the tide is low and empty
the tide is high and full
and so goes the moon's tearful, soulful push and pull

none alone a sheer and utter sin
know which way when they begin
be there when they win
if not, hide your tearful chagrin

raise up your faceless chin
stretch wide your clueless grin
somewhere betwixt and between
if you get what i mean
truth stretches therein

it helps to have praying knees
and hold the right keys
remember to say, "thank you" and "please" to a fickle breeze
that's just how it goes with heaven and hell

along with things such as these
