All O' The Talkin'

All O' The Talkin'

A Poem by Pete
"

When I hear music, I fear no danger. I am invulnerable. I see no foe. I am related to the earliest times, and to the latest. - Thoreau

good for anythin' and everythin' that ails
a legit vagabond ridin' the steel rails
pickin' and strummin'
you always hear a freight train a-comin'
fingers movin' in perpetual orbit
salt of the earth like potassium sorbate
foot stompin' and mouth a-hum
strings of undeniable truth vibratin' in unbroken continuum

from the lone star state
no longer with us but late
a bonafide soul needs no words
when it's right you know
when it's genuine it doesn't go slow
up high or down low
without duckin' your head
you just climb aboard and go

tearin' it up
one mighty playful pup
little need for backup
'neath a much sayin', more swayin', wide brimmed hat
thin but playin' fat
one damned cool, rhythmed cat
your doubtin' mouth hangin' open as all reason and understandin' go splat
all you hear is, "that's that"

wailin' hail
without lapse or fail
leadin' an endless trail of rhythmed braille
rockin'
stalkin'
ear-blockin'
mighty 'lectric shockin'
when no one needs a translator or dares take to walkin'
and the music does

all o' the talkin'
