A Poem by Pete
"

My life has been the poem I would have writ, but I could not both live and utter it. - Thoreau

"
Adding Signature Lines

no one should be allowed to write poetry
it needs to be breathed
regurgitated from deep within stirred bowels
short on consonants, long on vowels
stuck in your craw
sucked deeply through a narrow straw
love
joy
pain
tears
in through out years

fragments of souls left behind
dragged spirits
drought-stricken reelings
tidal feelings
blind
unkind
unrefined
entwined
declined
mimed
rhymed

unsigned

Pete
"Poetry is the only life got, the only work done, the only pure product and free labor of man, performed only when he has put all the world under his feet, and conquered the last of his foes." - Thoreau

You are not allowed to be a poet but POETRY itself Pete. your striking ink will always strike me, your ability to write with soul will always strike me. what does it matter? the poem reaching the reader? or the poem being signed? You already know the answer Pete. I bow again to your sublime talent. it is a privilege to have met, know and read You here. thank You for being a part of us.
