Farling

Farling

A Poem by Pete

Digging Deep into Walden Pond's History - EveryONE
Walden Pond

come with me my love
dance with me my darling

we'll collect seashells by an ocean where the tide is low and the sky is high
skipping rocks on a bottomless, glass pond deep in the woods
because destiny has braille faith and fate has seeing goods
where the lips of kisses never tell lies and passion never grows old or tires

we'll pick apples in eden's orchard when our souls are hungry
swimming naked in surreptitious waters
me, one of love's wanting sons
you, one of heaven's starlit daughters

we don't need a reason
we don't need a season
the time is now and the possibilities boundless
as tall, straight trees stand guard like immutable soldiers safe

take my hand
take my heart
in a place where an embrace is eternal
a place where near is far and far is near
a place where the voice of adoration is crystal clear
hear the song of the sweet, iridescent starling

come with me my love
dance with me my darling

Oh for the poet to again wax lyrical! For years and years a mode of expression that had been laid to the side. But the gentle flow, rising and ebbing of sweetness through words brings the heart so much closer to the finer emotions that within us reside. Thanks for sharing, Pete. Frederick.

Wow Pete. This is quite a different write from you. Your muse certainly took you on an alternative path. This is both romantic and descriptive. Maybe it's a dream, maybe it's wishful thinking. Whatever, I loved it.

This sounded like a beautiful song of romance, promises and fulfillments. I like how you used the pond that inspired Thoreau. You inspire us as he inspired you, Marvelous sir Pete.
