fishing with "baited" breath
blinding darkness
wobbly floor
roping cobwebs
never the right time
faced with reluctancy
a creaky ladder of stairs relentingly  pulled downward

it's not so easy to let go
tomorrow must not be held captive by today
no matter how a moment in time may be littered
no matter what yesterday has to say
irrespective of how the tide may lay
regardless of what wagging tongues may spray
as eternity blinks a mitigating eye

a rising sun and climbing back down unequivocally mean everything will be okay

I definitely relate to the concept of the attic where forgotten memories can again come to life
Just gotta watch your head!

Wow! You are waxing philosophical likeThoreau. I think Boston produces marvelous poets like yourself. Some very wise words .

I love this...the attic, the memories...fishing for keepsakes on a wobbly floor.
And those thoughts of those who put all of these trinkets in that attic.
This poem is so visual and has yesterday speaking quite loudly.
