Not-So-Kind Years

Not-So-Kind Years

A Poem by Pete

Ticker-tape parade - Wikipedia
Ticker-tape parade for presidential candidate Richard Nixon
in New York in 1960

he remembers having enough oil in his wavy, youthful locks to make french fries
now dandruff fell like confetti at a tickertape parade
unable to keep up a mellowing charade
he knew that less is more
especially when trying to fit through a narrow door
no use looking in the mirror and shedding flabby, wrinkled tears
this was just the result of some
not-so-kind years
