What's in Store

A Poem by Pete
"

We are older by faith than by experience. - Thoreau

"
SCERA Indoor Season opens with “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat ”

once thick, wavy hair thinning
time and cruel years winning
forgetting to stand up and stretch in the seventh inning
storms ever more skillful at twisting and sinning
staring into a perjurious mirror
save your soul but lose your spit
bald came i into the world and bald will i leave it

help me across the street when i'm old
lend me the colors of your dream coat when i'm cold
turning the worn, yellowed pages in a black book of faith's lore
it's hard to hold open a heavy door
seems fewer and fewer people go dancing anymore
wondering as we all do

what's in store
